Mr
Adebayo Adelabu, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress
(APC), wrote an application
to inspect the electoral materials used in the
March 9 governorship election.
The Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Anthony Akpovi, said he gave the
order after considering the application made by Adelabu on its merit and felt
it would help the petitioners in maintaining their case against the
respondents.
He ordered INEC to allow the governorship candidate of the All
Progressive Congress petitioners and their agents to check and obtain all
polling materials used in the March 9 governorship election in the custody of
INEC.
A report was made by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that Adelabu and
his party, APC, filed a petition at the tribunal against INEC for declaring his
counterpart, Makinde of the PDP winner of the Oyo State Governorship election.
INEC had declared Mr. Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
winner of the governorship election after polling 515,621 votes to defeat Mr.
Adebayo Adelabu of the All Progressive Congress (APC), who scored 357,982.
